This recipe is sure to give you a kickstart if you’re a bit flat in the morning and need a little caffeine hit to get you going. It’s also packed with energy in the form of bananas and good fats. And remember, you can make a big batch of this and store it in the fridge, so you have brekkie ready to go for the next few days without even having to think! A brill one for busy weeks.
Ingredients
- 2 Frozen bananas
- 2 Shots of espresso
- 1 tablespoon Coconut oil
- 3 tablespoons Macadamia
- Nuts (Activated if possible)
- 1 Vanilla pod (Split and scraped (or a pinch of vanilla powder))
- 2 Drops of stevia
- A few coffee beans (To serve (optional))
Instructions
- Pop everything except the coffee beans into the blender and give it a blitz until you're happy with the consistency. Pour into two glasses and, if you like, top with a few coffee beans to get the perfect snap for social media, then enjoy this healthy energy booster!

TIPS
I like to use cavendish bananas for this recipe but a couple of little lady fingers will work well too. Using stevia here keeps the smoothie fructose free, but if you’re fine with fructose then you can add a few dates or 1-2 tablespoons of honey, maple syrup, coconut sugar – whatever sweetener you like, really. If you like your smoothies a little runnier, just add up to 3 tablespoons of almond milk until you reach your desired consistency.
